Tennessee Theatre Educators Association (TTEA)

The Tennessee Theatre Educators Association (TTEA) is seeking an experienced and passionate leader to serve as our next Executive Director as an Independent Contractor.

This is an exciting opportunity to help lead and grow Tennessee’s statewide organization dedicated to supporting theatre educators, advocating for arts education, and overseeing programs including Tennessee All State Theatre (TASTE), professional development, membership services, and statewide initiatives.

Position Details

• Position: Executive Director (Independent Contractor)

• Location: Remote (Middle Tennessee preferred)

• Time Commitment: Approximately 5–8 hours per week

• Compensation: $5,000 annual contract

• Contract Term: Three-year agreement beginning September 1, 2026, subject to annual performance evaluation and Board approval.  

Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an individual with experience in one or more of the following:

• Nonprofit leadership and administration

• Theatre or arts education

• Financial oversight and organizational management

• Fundraising and grant development

• Event planning and statewide program coordination

• Communications, marketing, and member engagement

The Executive Director serves as the chief administrative leader of TTEA, working closely with the Board of Directors to advance the Association’s mission and strategic priorities while managing day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include organizational leadership, board support, financial administration, fundraising, membership services, communications, event coordination, and ensuring nonprofit best practices.
